Language: The official language of Georgia is Georgian. It belongs to the South Caucasian or Kartvelian Languages that also include Svan and Megrelian Languages spoken in Northwest of Georgia. Except this 3 languages some dialects are also used on the territory of the country.
Georgian Alphabet used today is called Mkhedruli and it has 33 letters in use, with 28 consonants and 5 vowels. The alphabet does not have a special form for the capital letters and the letters of Mkhedruli correspond to the sounds of the Georgian language (each sound has its written form).
Religion: Most of the population of Georgia, about 83.9% practices Orthodox Christianity, which was adopted as the state religion in the 4th century. The percentage of other religion representatives is as follows: Moslims - 9.9%; Armenian Christians – 3.9%; Russian Orthodox – 2%; Roman Catholics – 0.8%, as well as a small Jewish communities and Protestant minorities.
